Permanent Account Deletion

This action cannot be undone. Once deleted, your account and all associated data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

How to Delete Your Account

In the BeachMate App

RECOMMENDED

Delete your account directly from the BeachMate mobile app for the fastest processing.

  1. Open BeachMate - Launch the BeachMate app on your device
  2. Navigate to Profile - Tap Profile in the bottom navigation
  3. Access Support & Legal - Tap "Support & Legal" from your profile menu
  4. Select Delete Account - Under "Account Management", tap "Delete Account"
  5. Confirm Deletion - Check the confirmation box, enter your password, and tap "Permanently Delete My Account"

Email Request

If you cannot access the app, send a deletion request email to our privacy team. We will process your request within 7 business days.

Steps:

  1. Send an email to: privacy@beachmate.club
  2. Subject line: Account Deletion Request
  3. Include the following information:
    • Your registered email address
    • Your full name (as registered)
    • Phone number (if provided during registration)
    • Reason for deletion (optional)

Hello BeachMate Support,

I would like to request the deletion of my BeachMate account.

Registered Email: [your email]

Full Name: [your name]

Phone: [if provided]

Please process this request and confirm once my account and all associated data have been permanently deleted.

Thank you.

Processing Time: We will process your request within 7 business days and send a confirmation email once completed.

What Gets Deleted

Permanently Removed (within 30 days):

Account Information

  • Email address
  • Encrypted password
  • Full name
  • Phone number
  • Profile photo

All Your Videos

  • Uploaded videos
  • Video thumbnails
  • Captions and descriptions
  • Video metadata

Comments & Interactions

  • All comments you've posted
  • All captions you've created
  • All posts and text content

Likes & Favorites

  • All videos you've liked
  • All videos you've favorited
  • Your engagement history

Social Connections

  • Your followers list
  • Your following list
  • User relationships and connections

Location Data

  • GPS history
  • Location tracking data
  • Location preferences and settings

Data Retained (Anonymized where possible):

Some data may be retained for legitimate business or legal purposes:

Moderation Records

Duration: 90 days

Reason: Abuse prevention and platform safety

Status: Anonymized (your name shown as "[Deleted User]")

Legal & Financial Records

Duration: Up to 7 years

Reason: Australian tax law compliance

Status: Personal details anonymized after deletion

Analytics Data

Duration: Indefinite

Reason: App improvement and statistics

Status: Aggregated and non-identifiable (e.g., "X users from Queensland")

You will be logged out and cannot access your account

Personal Data Removed

All personal data removed from active database systems

Complete Deletion

All data purged from backups, cache, and CDN servers

Once the deletion process begins, it cannot be reversed. You will need to create a new account if you wish to use BeachMate again.

Export Your Data Before Deletion

Before deleting your account, you may request a copy of your data.

How to Request:

  1. Email privacy@beachmate.club with subject: "Data Export Request"
  2. Include your registered email address and full name
  3. We will provide a downloadable file within 14 days

What You'll Receive:

  • Your profile information
  • List of uploaded videos (download links valid for 30 days)
  • Your comments and captions
  • Your activity history (likes, favorites, follows)

Important: Data export requests must be made before submitting an account deletion request.

Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you

Correct Inaccurate Data

Update or correct any incorrect information in your account

Request Deletion of Your Data

Permanently delete your account and all associated data

File a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner

Filing a Complaint

If you believe we have not handled your deletion request appropriately, you can lodge a complaint with:
