- Profile photo
- Encrypted password (via Supabase authentication)
b. Location Information
- Approximate device location to show nearby beaches.
- You can disable location access anytime via device settings.
c. Content Data
- Uploaded videos, captions, and comments.
- Reports or flags on inappropriate content.
d. Usage Data
- App activity (likes, views, uploads)
- Device information (model, OS version)
- IP address (for security & analytics)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected data to:
- Authenticate users and manage accounts.
- Display and recommend nearby beaches.
- Improve app performance and user experience.
- Detect and prevent spam, abuse, or policy violations.
- Respond to support requests or reports.
We do not sell or rent your data to third parties.
3. How We Store and Protect Data
All data is securely stored on Supabase servers, which follow industry-standard security practices (PostgreSQL with RLS & encrypted traffic via HTTPS).
We implement:
- Encrypted communication (TLS)
- Role-based access control
- Strict admin-only moderation rights
Your password is encrypted and never visible to us.
4. Sharing of Information
We may share limited data:
- With service providers (e.g., Supabase) strictly for app operation.
- If required by law or government authorities.
- In anonymous, aggregated form for analytics or research.
We do not share personal data for advertising purposes.
5. User Rights
You have the right to:
- Access, update, or delete your account information.
- Withdraw location permissions.
- Request account deletion by contacting us at privacy@beachmate.club.
6. Data Retention
We keep your account and uploaded content as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data and uploads are permanently removed within 30 days, except where legally required to retain records.
7. Children's Privacy
BeachMate is intended for users 16 years and older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a child under 16 has used our service, contact us immediately for removal.
8. Third-Party Services
Our app may include links or integrations to third-party services (e.g., external videos, weather APIs). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not ours.
